These flexible armbands serve an important function during the game, especially at night. Used as a hit marker, they signal the successful hit and serve the purpose of a high-visibility vest or deathrag at night. What makes them special is that they don't have to glow all the time, so as not to interfere with the use of your night vision. Instead, they only need to be activated once you've been hit and taken out of the game. Armbands will be handed out at the event during registration.
